Medieval
Knight
We are going to find out how a knight lived in the medieval times.
We will search to find out what he eats, where he sleeps, what kind
of clothes he wears, and what his job is.
Tasks
What is a typical meal for a knight? Why do you think he ate food like this? Do you feel this is healthy food? Would you eat this kind of food?
Where does a knight sleep? Does he have a bed like you and I do? How would you like to sleep where he does?
What does a knight wear? Day to day? For protection?
What is a knight's job? Who does he work for?
Where does a knight live? Make a drawing of a typical place a knight lives.
Pretend you are a knight and keep a diary for a week.
Find and note at least three interesting facts about knights that we haven't discussed.
Design a suit of armor and a shield for yourself if you were a knight.
Resources
Process
You will work with a partner to find your information. You may choose any of the sites that are listed under resources to get your information. Please put together your information in a creative way so that it may be presented in about 3-5 minutes in front of the class. For extra credit you may construct a castle. Be creative and most of all, have fun!!
Conclusion
This assignment will come after we have started a medieval unit in class. The students will already have some knowledge of knights and their lives. This quest can be expanded to other people of the medieval era such as lords, peasants, kings, etc. It will be a fun, creative way to wrap up a unit on Medieval Times, while also giving the students additional information and hands on use of computers and the internet.
