Mini-Flip Clipboard

Here is a great way to have a quick entry system for comments about students throughout the day. Make this mini quick flip chart for the cost of a clipboard, a package of large index cards, and a roll of masking tape!

How to Make it!

Assign one card for each student and place his/her name on the bottom line of the card. Start at the bottom of a long ( legal size) clipboard. Place the last student's card in your group with the bottom of the card lined up with the bottom of the clipboard. Tape the top of the card to the clipboard with a full strip of masking tape. This will form a hinge allowing the card to flip although this is not important for the last card. Overlap this card with the next next card in order of your group leaving the last student's name visible. Tape the top of the card you are adding to the clipboard. Continue until all your cards have been added. Add one top card to cover the comments of the first student's card on your clipboard. You now have a quick way to add comments/notes per student by simply flipping to the student's name. Leaving the clipboard hanging up on the wall would make it easy to get to and allow the cards to always flip down covering your comments.
